Why this one works
The phone you replaced still has a perfectly good screen. Propped on a charger it shows last night’s sleep and this morning’s recovery without you unlocking anything.
Setting it up
- Open your display link in Safari.
- Share, then Add to Home Screen, and launch it from that icon for a full-screen view.
- Settings, Display & Brightness, Auto-Lock, set to Never.
- Leave it on a charger, face up or in a stand.
- Turn brightness right down. The layout does not rely on colour, so it stays readable.
Auto-Lock Never is rough on a battery. This is a plugged-in trick, not a carry-it-around one.
